Before the event Crown Princess Katherine addressed the
guests and the journalists pointing out: “When we look at the statistics in
Serbia we can see that the rate of mortality caused by breast cancer is much
higher than in the European Union, United Kingdom or United States. The aim
is to reduce the number of people who die and that can be only accomplished
with good early diagnostics and efficient treatment. My foundation is
working very hard to help in cancer prevention, but we must not forget that
public awareness is the first step that we should cross. Only by informing
women about all the consequences they can have if they don’t visit their
gynaecologists regularly, we can prevent this disease. That’s why I am
appealing to the media representatives to join us in this mission of saving
lives” – emphasized the Crown Princess Katherine in her speech.
