The Honorable Branko Terzic, PC, GCCY, ScD (h.c.) holds appointments as The Royal Adjutant (1976), Member of the Privy Council (1991), and Delegate of HRH Crown Prince Alexander of Serbia in the United States.
Dr. Terzic’s royal decorations include; Kt. Grand Cross of the Order of the White Eagle, Kt Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown of Yugoslavia, Kt. Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus, Kt. Order of St. Michael of the Wing, Kt. of Merit of the S.M.O Constantinian of Saint George, Commendatore Order pro Merito Melitense of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (Military & Civil).
An internationally recognized energy engineer, Dr. Terzic is a former United States federal and state government official and corporate executive. He is currently a Managing Director at the Berkeley Research Group LLC and a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, both in Washington DC. He is also a member of The Brookings Institution Global Electricity Roundtable.
Dr. Terzic was twice appointed by President George H.W. Bush and confirmed by the United States Senate to serve as Commissioner on the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He has served on the presidential advisory boards U.S. National Petroleum Council and the U.S. National Coal Council. Earlier in his career he served as Commissioner on the State of Wisconsin Public Service Commission and later as Chairman of the State of Wisconsin Racing Board. He served as Chairman of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Ad Hoc Group of Experts on Cleaner Electricity Production (Geneva, Switzerland).
In the private sector his prior positions include serving as; Executive Director of the Deloitte Center for Energy Solutions (Houston, TX and Washington, DC), Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Yankee Energy System, Inc, ( Meriden, CT) Managing Director in Arthur Anderson LLP (Washington, DC0, and Group Vice-President of AUS Consultants (Milwaukee, WI).
Today Dr. Terzic appears as a regular commentator on oil and energy issues on CNN International and also has appeared on Fox Business News and other media.
His articles and commentary have appeared regularly in Public Utility Fortnightly, EnergyBiz, Power Executive, Deregulation Watch, Natural Gas, Oil & Gas Financial Journal, The Economist and other publications. Dr. Terzic’s bi-weekly column, Terzic on Strategy ran for ten years in New Power Executive starting in 1999. Terzic contributed a chapter on energy to the book THE WORLD CRISIS: THE WAY FORWARD AFTER IRAQ (Constable, London 2008), edited by Robert Harvey.
Academic awards include a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Doctor of Sciences in Engineering “honorus causa” from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and inducted member of the Order of the Engineer. He has received numerous industry awards including being elected to the Energy Efficiency Forum Hall of Fame and being named “Champion” of the Women’s Council on Energy and Environment. Terzic served as a Captain in the Field Artillery in the Army Reserve National Guard of the State of Wisconsin.
