MSc. Dusan Babac, member of the Privy Council of HRH Crown Prince Alexander, author and publicist, and Aleksandar Ognjevic, military aviation historian, published the book “Secrets of the Royal Treasures”.

This publication by the “Evro book” gives very precise answers about the fate of the gold reserves of the National Bank of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in World War II, as well as many other valuable items that were personally owned by the members of the Royal family.

Primary sources from the archives of the National Bank of Serbia were used in the book, as well as many others, from which it is clear that King Peter II did not take or spend a single gram of gold, which is the central theme of propaganda aimed primarily against him, for more than 75 years.

Regarding this matter Mr. Babac says: “The National Bank of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia was a joint stock company, therefore a private company. The shareholders were private individuals. The Federal People’s Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ) was a country where, after the war the greatest part of the hijacked gold was recovered, and nationalization the country confiscated it from the shareholders – the real owners among whom were also members of the Royal family. Subsequent succession of gold reserves of SFRJ was also carried out illegally, because it should have been preceded by the restitution”.

The book “Secrets of the Royal Treasures” argues and precisely shatters many myths and propaganda originated after 1945.
