Born in Belgrade in 1949, where he finished elementary and high school. Graduated at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade in 1972 and immediately began working as a law clerk. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, passing the bar exam, and his military service, in 1975 he was registered as a lawyer in the Bar Association of Belgrade. Since then he has been continuously practicing law. He was involved in all areas of law (civil, criminal, commercial and international) and from 2005 he was lead counsel before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in the cases of Vujadin Popovic and others, and Goran Hadzic. The two-term elected secretary of the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of Belgrade (1994-2002) and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of Serbia (2002-2006).
